Honestly Essential, a wellness brand focused on high-quality products, partnered with Usatility to modernize their visual identity. The project centered on redesigning product packaging to create a more modern and visually compelling aesthetic. In addition, we provided creative direction for packaging, developed a cohesive brand identity, and led art direction for ad campaigns and product imagery to align with the brand’s values. These efforts aimed to enhance customer appeal and establish a stronger market presence.

COMPETITOR BRANDING.

Top competing brands like The Ordinary is celebrated for its minimalist, science-driven approach to design and branding. Its packaging emphasizes simplicity, with clean typography, neutral tones, and clear, accessible product information, aligning with its mission of transparency and affordability. This modern, understated aesthetic appeals to consumers seeking straightforward, high-quality skincare solutions. The design prioritizes functionality while maintaining an elevated, professional feel. We took inspiration from this approach, aiming to modernize the packaging while reflecting its own identity rooted in natural, minimalist beauty.

ORIGINAL BRANDING.

The old label designs for Honestly Essential had a clean and minimalist approach, which aligned with the brand’s emphasis on natural ingredients. However, they lacked a modern and cohesive visual identity that could immediately communicate the brand’s values to consumers. The typography and layout felt somewhat dated, and the lack of distinct branding elements made it harder to stand out on shelves. While the simplicity was a strength, it didn’t fully convey the premium and eco-conscious nature of the products, leaving room for improvement in storytelling and visual appeal.
